# Knowledge Hub

> Organise resources, documents, and links for your staff team

The Knowledge Hub is a centralised resource library where you can organise links, documents, videos, and other assets into colour-coded categories. Staff can browse and open resources directly from the dashboard, and managers can pin frequently-used links in a sidebar for quick access.

***

## Categories

Resources in the Knowledge Hub are grouped into categories. Each category has a name, optional description, an icon, and a colour.

### Creating a Category

Click **New Category** in the top-right corner. Configure the following:

* **Name** — required
* **Description** — optional, shown below the category name
* **Icon** — choose from a grid of icons
* **Color** — pick a preset or enter a hex value
* **Team Access** — optionally restrict which teams can view or manage this category (leave empty to allow all staff)

### Managing Categories

Each category card has an overflow menu with **Edit Category** and **Delete Category** options. Deleting a category also removes all resources inside it.

Categories can be collapsed or expanded by clicking the category header. A resource count badge shows how many resources are in each category.

## Resources

Resources are individual items inside a category. Each resource has a title, URL, type, and optional description and cover image.

### Resource Types

| Type         | Best used for                   |
| ------------ | ------------------------------- |
| **Link**     | General web URLs                |
| **Document** | Docs, guides, written reference |
| **Video** | YouTube, Loom, or any video URL |
| **Image**    | Direct image URLs               |
| **File**     | Downloadable files              |

The type is displayed as a badge and affects how the resource icon appears on the card.

### Adding a Resource

Click **Add** on a category card. Configure:

* **Type** — one of the five types above
* **Title** — required
* **URL** — required
* **Description** — optional, shown below the title on the card
* **Card Cover** — optional image, title, and description that appear on the card itself (the cover title overrides the resource title on the card)

### Card Covers

Expanding the **Card Cover** section lets you provide:

* A **cover image URL** — shown as a banner at the top of the card
* A **cover title** — shown instead of the resource title
* A **cover description** — shown below the cover title

Categories with any covered resources switch to a grid layout; categories with no covers use a compact list.

## Pinned Links

The right-hand sidebar shows a **Pinned** section. Pinned links are quick-access bookmarks visible to all staff regardless of category permissions.

Click **+** next to the Pinned heading to add a link. Each pinned link has a title, URL, optional note, and an icon chosen from a grid of options.

Hover over any pinned link to reveal edit and remove buttons.

## Filtering

A search bar in the top-right filters visible categories and resources by name. Clearing the search restores the full view.

## Access Control

Viewing the Knowledge Hub requires `CanView` on the Knowledge Hub page (or Owner/Admin status). Managing categories and resources requires `CanManage`.
